Forego the Parable

...my knees are cold

100 notes

redesignrelated (a great tumblr blog, btw):

In April 2010, Scholastic will publish repackaged titles from Ann M. Martin’s “The Baby-Sitter’s Club” series along with a prequel titled The Summer Before. We aren’t sure what the redesigned covers for the first 20 books in the series will look like, but we spotted a thumbnail for the prequel on the NYT site (seen above).

monicalm (via karenh):

My favorite quote from the New York Times piece?  “Editors at Scholastic updated some of the references to technology and outdated fashions in the reissued books. So a ‘cassette player’ has become ‘headphones’ and a ‘perm’ has become ‘an expensive hairstyle.’”
But why isn’t What Claudia Wore mentioned?!

It wasn’t just a perm that Stacy had, it was a “body wave” and I wanted one SO BAD. I also wanted to be on nickname-basis with “Bloomie’s.”
(But Stace had diabetes and her parents were divorced, so even though she was a model and she got to go to New York City you were supposed to feel kinda bad for her. I didn’t. I thought diabetes was cool.)

Reading this makes me want to dig out all of my old Babysitter Club books and read them - gosh I loved this series. Oh and who could forget the movie!
